Date:November 2012

ATLANTA — U.S. Security Associates is saluting the nation's military with full force recruiting of veterans and reservists. In the 2011 reporting period, the company hired 1,483 men and women who have served in the armed forces, and CEO Chuck Schneider is looking to drive that record number even higher in 2012 and beyond. Schneider, a former naval officer, has issued a military recruiting mandate to every U.S. Security Associates branch office: the heroes who have defended American borders and freedom are U.S Security Associates' first choice to protect people and property for clients.

Veterans already make up 14% of the company's total workforce, a strong showing considering that they represent less than 8% of the entire U.S. labor force, according to the Department of Labor's most recent numbers. But "the need to help get veterans on career paths has never been greater," says Raymond Weeks, vice president, Veterans Initiatives at Prudential Financial. His observation is based on the findings of a recent study conducted by Prudential, in partnership with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America.

The Veterans' Employment Challenges study reveals that nearly 70% of veterans consider finding a job to be the greatest challenge they face in transitioning from military to civilian life.

U.S. Security Associates plans to continue building brand recognition as a military-friendly employer through veteran job fairs, national employment groups and local resources.
